Job Description
The Assistant Store Manager (Assistant Doughnut Boss) supports day-to-day retail operations, team leadership, and financial performance of a high-volume doughnut shop. This role partners with the Store Manager to drive sales, deliver exceptional customer service, maintain product quality, and lead a team in a fast-paced food service environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for candidates with experience in retail management, restaurant management, or food & beverage operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support overall store operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and daily execution
- Deliver and uphold exceptional customer service standards in a high-volume environment
- Assist in hiring, training, coaching, and developing team members
- Help manage employee scheduling, labor control, and shift coverage
- Maintain consistent product quality, food safety, and cleanliness standards
- Monitor and support sales performance, KPIs, and revenue goals
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and waste control
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally to ensure a positive experience
- Partner with the Store Manager on local marketing efforts and in-store promotions
- Lead by example—working alongside the team to ensure smooth, efficient operations
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in retail, restaurant, or food service management (Assistant Manager or Shift Lead level preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Experience with high-volume operations and fast-paced environments
- Working knowledge of POS systems, cash handling, and basic reporting
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Passion for customer service and team development
