Job Description
The Crisis Intervention Specialist/Liasion works closely with the Franklin County Sheriff’s HOPE Task Force and the Columbus Division of Police Human Trafficking Task force, collaborating with the community and obtaining the assistance from HOPE and HF task forces to provide immediate consultation and intervention to people who use drugs and their families through linkage to treatment resources, enhance patient ability to thrive in the following treatment models; Stages of Change and Motivational Interviewing, and by referral to a clinical programming.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a flexible schedule to respond to calls from Franklin County Sheriff for search warrants and other duties as directed by the sheriff office.
- Be able to run service log reports to correct any billing errors.
- Complete daily shift report of activities.
- Follow the direction of law enforcement leadership on the scene in sting, warrants and other potentially dangerous situations.
- Provides consultation, counseling and educational services to individuals who survived a drug overdose and families of persons who have died from a fatal drug overdose.
- Act as the liaison for people in law enforcement custody as a result of a sting operation, in lieu of arrest and at the discretion of law enforcement to refer to the appropriate level of care.
- Actively participates in outcome research and quality improvement projects.
- Develops and maintains program policies, procedures, goals and objectives as the program evolves.
- Works collaboratively with the RREACT Team members and other Southeast resources for referrals and treatment options.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications
1. Chemical dependency license or AoD in scope of practice. Mental health license is strongly preferred.
2. Knowledge of addiction signs and symptoms.
3. Knowledge of providers to perform a mental status exam upon the request of the client or law enforcement partner.
