General Description of Position:
Responsible for repair of boat parts after lamination process, or return for warranty service.
Duties (Essential):
Performs appropriate repair to gel coat and metal flake; remove scratches by sanding and buffing; fixes deeper scratches by mixing gel coat, working it down and spraying it. Essential – 75%
Track replacement part work orders and prepare for shipping. Essential – 5%
Keeps records on repairs and parts used in repairs. Moves parts to and from work place. Keeps work area clean. Essential – 10%
Work overtime as necessary.
Duties (Non-Essential): Performs other duties as assigned. Non-essential – 5%
Education & Work Experience: Minimum education level required, however GED or equivalent preferred. Previous lamination experience preferred. Must be able to read and understand instructions.
Environmental and Working Conditions:
Works in production area. Comes in contact with fumes and chemical from processes such as gelcoating, laminating, and fiberglass cutting process. Requires reasonable physical stamina. Requires standing for 10+ hours a day, bending, walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and climbing in/out of boats. Talking, hearing and normal vision are required. Willing to work all areas of patching: glass, final finish, patching, small parts, 280 line, etc.
Skills & Aptitudes:
Language skills - Able to understand spoken instructions with regard to job training and safety concerns and the ability to speak conversational English.
Reasoning skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed finishing of all products. Ability to deal with changes related to equipment use and productivity.
