Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Job Description
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides occupational therapy services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist. This role assists with therapy assessments, implements individualized service plans, maintains clinical documentation, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support independence and quality of life. The COTA also provides training to staff and supports therapeutic interventions in accordance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
