Position Summary
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department within our senior living community. This position plays a key role in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, recordkeeping, and administrative support while helping foster a positive and professional workplace culture dedicated to exceptional resident care.
Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment activities including job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and onboarding coordination.
- Prepare new hire paperwork and maintain accurate employee records in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Support employee onboarding and orientation programs.
- Track and maintain employee licenses, certifications, training records, and background checks.
- Assist with payroll processing, timekeeping corrections, and benefits administration.
- Respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee, resident, and organizational information at all times.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and staff events.
- Assist with workers’ compensation claims, incident reporting, and leave tracking.
- Support investigations into workplace issues including but not limited to employee relation issues, ethical violations, and other HR-related concerns.
- Ensure HR files and documentation remain compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Help coordinate mandatory trainings and compliance requirements for healthcare staff.
- Assist with processing HR department invoices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.
Position Requirements
Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Associate’s Degree or higher in Human Resources or related field preferred
Licenses/Certifications: SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Experience: 1+ years of Human Resources experience preferred, preferably in a senior living or healthcare environment
