Title: Driver - Transporter
Location: River House - 211 SE Caruthers St. Portland, OR 97203
Schedule: This is an in-person position. Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM (approx). Wage Range: $21.00 - $25.00 hourly.

Position Summary:
The Driver is responsible for providing safe transportation for clients who have appointments (legal, medical, etc.) or to transport individuals for NARA events.
What you will do:
- Provide transportation for clients who have appointments outside residential (legal, medical, etc.).
- Perform weekly checks on NARA NW vehicles used for transportation. Check oil, water, tire pressure, etc.
- Make minor repairs to vehicles as needed, such as replacing fuses or light bulbs.
- Maintain mileage and transportation logs.
- Ensure vehicle is equipped with appropriate equipment during inclement weather conditions (chains, snow tires).
- Responsible for daily and routine mail deliveries to NARA facilities.
- Responsible for weekly food bank pick-up.
- Attend staff meetings as assigned.
- Works collaboratively, and maintains professional boundaries with clients, other NARA staff, team members, and treats everyone with respect and dignity at all times.
We would like to hear from people that have:
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation, current driver’s license with a clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
- Basic experience performing minor vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, lube jobs, tire rotations, and coordinating or replacing new tires as needed.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, the community, and other staff members.
- Must pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests.
- Must pass criminal background and DMV checks.
