Position Overview
At Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), Associate Cloud Engineer is responsible for supporting the deployment, administration, and optimization of cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. This role supports the business by helping maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud operations while collaborating closely with DevOps, security, and application teams to improve system performance, availability, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Assist in provisioning, configuring, and managing GCP resources including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, and GKE
- Support deployment, maintenance, and optimization of applications within GCP environments
- Monitor cloud systems using Cloud Monitoring, Logging, and Alerting tools to ensure performance and reliability
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, and application-related issues
- Assist with implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or similar tools
- Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams on deployments, automation initiatives, and operational improvements
- Manage IAM roles, service accounts, and access controls across cloud environments
- Assist in securing cloud infrastructure following security best practices and compliance standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and operational processes
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support cloud operations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned to support IT and corporate objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0–2 years of experience in cloud or systems engineering
- Basic understanding of GCP services and cloud architecture
- Familiarity with Linux systems and command-line tools
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including VPCs, DNS, and firewalls
- Basic scripting skills using Python or Bash
- Understanding of Git and version control practices
- GCP certification such as Associate Cloud Engineer
- Exposure to containers (Docker) and Kubernetes (GKE)
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
- Familiarity with Cloud Run and serverless architectures
- Understanding of security best practices including IAM and least-privilege access
Compensation and Benefits
- Base: $33.00 - $44.00 per hour
- Bonus: 10% Target Bonus
- Total Compensation (Base + Bonus): The successful candidate could reasonably expect a Total Compensation Package in the range of $74,000 - $100,000
- Equity: This role is not eligible for equity opportunities, awards or grants
