position summary
The role of the crew leader is to safely oversee a team of field technicians to ensure that work is being done to the highest standards set by Superior Environmental Technicians.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Maintain safety as the first priority in all work performed.
- Supervise, lead, and direct Field Service Technicians & Driver/Operators to assist in completion of assigned tasks or duties.
- Distribute daily workload to team members in an equitable manner.
- Ensure all employees perform assigned tasks in compliance with company, customer, and federally required policies/procedures.
- Coach, train, and correct employees to ensure work performed is safe, productive, and cost effective with the goal to complete the assigned task in the best interest of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Complete weekly minimum required electronic work audit observations and provide team members with timely feedback on performance and any improvements necessary.
- Ensure all daily job tickets are accurately input to the mobile tablet system and all items used to perform the work are properly captured and submitted for billing. Make sure that all sub-contractor costs, transportation, waste disposal and rental equipment, as applicable to ensure accurate invoices.
- Professionally and legibly complete or direct and review completion of any on-site paperwork for the company and customer.
- Interact professionally and effectively with on-site customers and other vendor representatives; demonstrate total commitment to outstanding customer services to exceed client expectations.
Education and Experience
Required
- Ability to lead a diverse team of technicians.
- Experience leading a team in an industrial environment.
- At least 2 years of experience in industrial/environmental services.
Preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Highschool diploma or GED equivalent

Job Demands and Work Environment
- Frequent walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting and moving of equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and potential environmental hazards.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines, analyze operational challenges, and make high-stakes decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments
- Travel required, including overnight stays as needed
