1. Promote a safe, cooperative and professional health care environment to ensure optimum patient care (as per HR Policy 113c). |

2. Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including but not limited to, absenteeism, ETIME, cellular telephone usage, dress code and rules of conduct. |
|
|
3. Makes Customer Service a priority, treating customers (patients, visitors, and co-workers) in a professional manner exercising courtesy and tact. Effectively communicates with patients and others about SBH services in their area(s) of expertise or responsibility and ensures that concerns, questions or issues reach the right person(s) in SBH in a timely fashion. |

4. Provide a full spectrum of dental anesthesia services to patients of the dental department at SBH Health System. This includes evaluating, selecting, and determining the potential response and risk associated with various forms of anxiety and pain control modalities based on patient’s physiological and psychological factors. |
|
|
5. Provide a full spectrum of dental anesthesia services for patients including mild, moderate, and deep sedation by various routes of administration (oral, intravenous, intramuscular, intranasal, and inhalational) while instructing and supervising dental anesthesiology residents as required for CODA accreditation of the dental anesthesiology program. |

|
6. Anesthesia Attending for Pediatric and General Practice Residency Programs.
|
|
|
7. Provide dental anesthesia lectures to Pediatric and General Practice Residents. |
|
|
8. Instruct and supervise residents in the administration of local anesthesia as well as psychological management and behavior modification as they relate to anxiety and pain control in dentistry. |
|
|
9. Instruct residents in managing perioperative emergencies and complications related to anxiety and pain control procedures, including the immediate establishment of an airway and maintenance of ventilation and circulation. |
|
|
10. Instruct residents in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of acute pain related to the head and neck region. |
|
|
11. Instruct residents in patient preparation for sedation/anesthesia, including pre-operative and post-operative instructions and informed consent. |
|
|
12. Instruct residents in the use of anesthesia-related equipment for the delivery of anesthesia, patient monitoring, and emergency management. |
|
|
13. To provide didactic and clinical instruction in aspects of dental anesthesia. |
|
|
14. To conduct scholarly activity in the form of research and mentoring resident research projects. |
