Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking a post-Junior Officer Submariner with excellent problem solving and communication skills to manage and grow our teams supporting submarine combat system software development efforts in Manassas, VA.
Location: Working full-time onsite at Lockheed Martin in Manassas, VA.
What you will be doing:
We are seeking a full-time, highly motivated submarine officer to fill multiple roles. The first role will be to support testing of the submarine combat system by acting as Officer of the Deck for bi-weekly testing simulating an at sea environment. The second responsibility will be to manage several of Sonalysts’ project teams in the Manassas, VA area. Finally, the ideal candidate will be an aggressive business developer that will identify and land new opportunities for Sonalysts to grow. For this position, you must be a US Citizen and will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to conduct integration and testing for the development of the next generation submarine combat systems.
- Coordinate and run operations demonstrations (OPS Demos) conducted to simulate real world submarine operations.
- Track software deliveries and bay integration across multiple software development teams.
- Drive fixes to identified bugs through various System Integration Teams and Integrated Product Teams and resolve multi-stakeholder issues.
- Oversee the daily execution of operational activities to include technical meetings, system integration efforts, test planning and execution, and review of products/results.
- Project management for several existing Sonalysts teams.
- Track finances, submit required reports, and manage personnel.
- Business development to expand or create new Sonalysts lines of effort.
- Identify leads and teaming opportunities, manage the proposal process, and ensure the new work has the appropriate staffing and project leadership.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field) from an accredited institution; or 5+ years of comparable professional experience
- Qualified as U.S. submarine submerged officer of the deck (OOD).
- Demonstrated leadership experience across multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders with a high degree of technical and interpersonal competency
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible to receive an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with shipyard operations and processes
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and principles
- M.B.A or project management certification
- Knowledge of system and software architecture concepts, such as containerization and cloud technologies
- Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and Confluence products, including experience with agile project planning, issue tracking, and collaboration tools
- Possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance*
*Obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves a comprehensive background check.
