The Senior Accountant & Financial Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of accounting records through regular maintenance of the general ledger and reconciliation of subsidiary accounts for the assigned business accounts. In addition to day-to-day accounting tasks such as reviewing and recording revenues, expenses, and margins in the proper accounting periods, the individual will prepare comprehensive financial statements and reports, with responsibilities such as analyzing financial performance, identifying and researching variances against budgets, prior periods, and previous years and offering detailed insights into financial trends all of which are essential to understanding key drivers of business performance.
The role also involves working closely with cross-functional teams, requiring strong communication skills to ensure a clear understanding of business segments, needs, goals, and financial objectives. The Senior Accountant & Financial Analyst will actively support financial forecasting, assist in preparing annual budgets, and contribute to strategic financial planning initiatives, making recommendations that enhance overall financial performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Accounting Functions
- Prepare financial statements, income statements, cash flow statements, balance sheets, and budgets.
- Maintain general ledger, prepare, enter, and post journal entries to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Compile and analyze bank account reconciliations, ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved.
- Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, support the accuracy of financial statements by validating and reconciling account balances.
- Maintain specific audit worksheets and prepare documentation required for various types of audits.
- Adhere to the monthly close calendar and ensure timely completion of accounting tasks and reporting deadlines.
- Implement, maintain internal controls and establish procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
