As our Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for developing a stable supply base through long-term and strategic relationships with suppliers. The Supply Chain Specialist will also be responsible for delivering business results including Safety, Quality, and KPIs.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related experience
  • 5 years of experience in materials (purchasing, planning, inventory control, etc.) or equivalent required
  • 3 or more years of in a manufacturing environment or manufacturing management preferred
  • Import/Export Trade Compliance experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to support process, and manufacturing functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to share knowledge at appropriate levels of the organization

What will you be Accountable for?

  • Works with production teams to set, track, and execute daily and weekly goals for the work center that take into account personnel and equipment constraints but support overall rate targets (KPI)
  • Manages the cost center and monitor KPIs to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Leads and manages all procurement and materials management activities including order placement, supplier reduction/evaluation/certification, supplier follow-up, price negotiation and compliance with government procurement regulations
  • Ensures all the material management policies are consistent with the inventory control objectives
  • Optimizes Inventory storage location. Setup Min Max, reduce E&O, and improve the overall layout of the stock room. 
  • Works closely with divisional materials personnel to maintain continuity with purchasing and supplier management processes
  • Facilitates corporate purchasing and materials initiatives including common part numbers, supplier-managed inventory, consolidated purchasing agreements, supplier reduction, and supplier quality certifications
  • Conducts performance review, corrective action, and goal setting for direct reports
  • Provides career development, mentoring, and succession planning
  • Maintains AS9100, ISO9001 standards for ITAR-compliant facility

  • Works with a global network of suppliers, with a focus on long-term relationship building, capacity planning and analysis for production based on demand and timeliness 
  • Leads by example, holds people accountable and utilizes data to make informed decisions 
  • Partners with management, production, engineering, sales, employees, vendors, and customers to have a positive impact on the organization

What are you Empowered to do?

  • Work closely with production, purchasing, and engineering departments to maintain schedules and implement changes and revisions in operational procedures
  • Walk the process flow of the assigned group of work centers and/or buildings to identify the needs of the operators and assemblers
  • Provide administrative support as needed to the department to ensure efficient operations
  • Leads and promotes Continuous Improvement events and activities
  • Defines, modifies, or improves product flow to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Focuses on driving Safety, quality, and productivity

Average annual salary range: $65,000-$95,000, DOE (plus benefits).
