
Senior Director of Facility Operations
Job Description
SUMMARY: The Senior Director of Facility Operations reports to the Vice President of Site Operations and is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day leadership of Facility Operations, Maintenance, Energy Management and Sustainability for Gillette Stadium. This role ensures safe, efficient, and best-in-class stadium operations while support major sporting events, concerts, and special events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee all aspects of facility operations and maintenance for Gillette Stadium, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, fire protection, pest control, custodial services, sprinkler systems, elevators and related infrastructure.
- Maintain and continuously enhance the aesthetic quality and functionality of Gillette Stadium and its surrounding infrastructure.
- Create, review and amend operational procedures, preventive maintenance schedules, inventory controls, fire code compliance practices, and event set-up inspections to ensure best-in-class service delivery.
- Direct, monitor and maintain the Preventative and Corrective Maintenance System, using dashboard analytics to identify trends and drive efficiency improvements.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners; oversee performance management and financial reviews for third-party contractors, including cleaning, facilities, maintenance, waste management, temporary labor and general contractors.
- Prepare detailed event cost estimates and post-event analysis for specific areas of responsibility.
- Develop and manage operating expenses, including equipment rental, supplies and staffing costs.
- Maintain strong working relationships with department heads/leadership and proactively communicate recommendations for areas of Gillette Stadium that require repairs, upgrades, or improvements.
- Oversee and schedule contracted stadium cleaning, operations, and maintenance services for all stadium events held at Gillette Stadium; including all home Patriots Games, Revolution Games, Concerts, Special Events and corporate functions/events.
- Oversee the set-up, execution and breakdown of events held at Gillette Stadium; including all home Patriots Games, Revolution Games, Concerts, Special Events and corporate functions/events.
- Oversee grounds maintenance, including landscaping and general property upkeep.
Energy Management & Sustainability
- Manage and optimize operating systems to reduce the consumption of electricity, natural gas, and water.
- Manage the renewable energy systems at Gillette Stadium, including Cogen and Fuel Cells.
- Establish, manage and report on annual sustainability goals for Gillette Stadium.
- Research, develop, and implement environmentally responsible policies and procedures that reduce Gillette Stadiums environmental impact while supporting business objectives.
Additional Responsibilities
- Recommend and initiate cost-effective purchasing and repair strategies; manage departmental budget and all budget assigned items.
- Plan and manage capital improvement projects as assigned
- Special projects and assignments as business dictates
- Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state of federal regulations including HIPAA.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 12+ years of experience in facilities maintenance and/or operations leadership
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks
- Ability to work under deadlines dictated by management, event schedules and project timelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
