Summary of Position:
We are currently looking for experienced leaders to ensure that school meals programs (K-12) under contract management are in compliance with federal and state regulations.. This individual will travel to districts to provide compliance support and training for 50-60% of the calendar year. Individuals with experience in K-12 schools are preferred and/or experience in managing operations. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and flexible with scheduling.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and provides training and ongoing development throughout all levels of the company in the areas of menu planning, nutrition and compliance standards. Create and implement trainings materials, handouts, and guidance manuals to support training initiatives.
- Ensures compliance by enforcing and maintaining professional knowledge of state, federal, local, and company standards and regulations.
- Provides menu support through training, monitoring and feedback; menu development as needed.
- Effectively communicates information regarding regulations, compliance, company standards, nutrition, menu planning and wellness to specific audiences as needed.
- Develops innovative solutions to obstacles.
- Maintains menu planning software and nutrition database.
- Provides district support ensuring successful Administrative Reviews.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- This position requires a person that is a leader and is able to handle a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in school nutrition or related field is preferred, but not required. Consideration will be given to candidates with other food service related work experience.
- Preferred RDN, BS in Nutrition or related field.
- This job does require travel; approximately 60%.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and planning own travel.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Ability to speak, read, write and understand English and/or dominate language at the school
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop frequently lift up to 50 pounds
