Job Description
SUMMARY: The Database Administrator is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and performance of our database systems. As a Database Administrator, you will ensure the security, availability, and integrity of our databases, while also providing support and assistance to users as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work with project teams to develop database strategies to support company needs.
- Responsible for quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
- Install, configure, and maintain database software and related tools.
- Monitor database performance, including query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.
- Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and availability.
- Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient database schemas.
- Assist in database upgrades, migrations, and patches as required.
- Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and standards.
- Provide technical support and assistance to users as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in database administration.
- Consult and advise users on access to and performance of various databases.
- Collaborate directly with users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage.
- Ensure high levels of data available and database performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics or related field.
- OR an additional 3-year specific work experience in lieu of a degree.
- 5 years of relevant/technical work experience.
- Understanding of SQL language.
- Experience with HA, replication & mirroring.
- Experience with query tuning, performance tuning, database design.
- Experience migrating databases from the most recent version.
- SQL Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2021 experience.
- Experience with SQL backups.
- Experience in developing and maintaining MS SQL Server databases, data warehouse and multidimensional DB’s.
- AWS experience.
- Automation experience.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in data analytics or related field.
- 8 years of experience as a database administrator or similar role.
