JOB DESCRIPTION

The Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Java House water and ice dispensing equipment across customer locations. This role requires a customer-focused and technically skilled individual with basic plumbing experience, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and a commitment to following safe, standardized service procedures. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to deliver high quality service while representing the company professionally in the field. 


RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Perform primary installation of water and ice dispensing equipment at customer sites
  • Conduct routine maintenance including filter changes, sanitization, and scheduled preventive service
  • Inspect water dispensing equipment and accessories to ensure optimal and efficient operation
  • Respond to service calls, troubleshoot equipment issues, rebuild components, and perform general maintenance on water systems
  • Coordinate any in-depth maintenance or specialized repair work required for water systems
  • Provide technical support to customers via phone, online, and onsite for water system questions and inquiries
  • Work with third-party installers when required to ensure standardized installation and repair practices
  • Maintain on-site and vehicle parts inventory for rebuilds and general maintenance
  • Document service activities, equipment condition, and parts usage 
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Understanding of basic plumbing requirements with a focus on safe installation and maintenance of water dispensing equipment 
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle report 
  • Ability to travel to customer sites 
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • General working knowledge of basic hand tools and related maintenance applications
  • Strong customer-focused orientation with a high sense of urgency 
  • Basic computer skills including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to balance, reach, and grasp while climbing on a step stool or ladder
  • Ability to exert up to 15-60 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly during equipment installs, maintenance, and removals
  • Ability to crouch, kneel, and work in confined spaces typical of under-counter or back-of-house equipment locations
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read technical documentation, service manuals, and small components
