Overview
Under direction from the Associate General Counsel, Litigation and Employment, the Mgr, Paralegal III will work closely with attorneys, dental professionals, operations leaders and administrative support staff to provide legal, administrative and related support integral to the organization's operations. The individual will serve as a subject matter expert for clinician employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, term letters, tender letters, and other clinician employment or litigation-related matters in conjunction with or at the direction of the Associate General Counsel, Litigation and Employment.
Responsibilities
Perform paralegal and administrative functions as assigned by Associate General Counsel, Litigation and Employment as directed including the creation, maintenance and oversight of various system databases, processes, and documents related to confidential legal and HR matters.
Prepare, manage and facilitate legal documents and communications agreements for attorney review and approval by identifying forms and formats, producing text and proofreading.
Lead and supervise the performance and duties of several hourly legal team members. Including the hiring, separation and performance evaluations of direct reports.
Provide information and support to the field for owner-dentists, dentists, specialists, and registered dental hygienists.
Accept service and review subpoenas and other court documents served. Transmit to the proper department, NSC personnel or field personnel to be handled in a timely manner.
Manage files and documents, includes coordinating with executives, operations partners, field personnel, dental practice owners, and compiling supporting documentation/records,
Assist and advise legal team members, leadership, Recruiting, and other departments with workflows and systems used to generate agreements and other ancillary documents.
Perform research as assigned by attorneys or management.
Act as a liaison with the organization's management, other internal clients and outside counsel.
Other duties as assigned by the Associate General Counsel, Litigation and Employment, attorneys and management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in the related field, paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program. In lieu of degree, 7+ years of legal and transactional experience in a large corporate setting or law firm is required or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in drafting contracts and corporate legal instruments, filing documents with state and federal agencies, handling licensing and maintenance of entities.
Basic understanding of professional licensing and permitting for healthcare clinicians.
Basic understanding of or familiarity with corporate entities and partnership terminology and structure.
Preferred
Familiarity with Salesforce, Box, Apttus, X-Author, DocuSign Esignature, DocuSign CLM, Spring CM, and/or Workshare Professional.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong data/internet research capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. High energy and enthusiasm; ability to take initiative and make suggestions or volunteer ideas for improving overall department or individual productivity.
Problem solving skills to gather and analyze information in order to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Ability to understand complex compensation structures, apply sound judgment in making decisions, and make decisions under pressure. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with Company policies, as well as state, federal and other regulatory bodies as it relates to employment contracts.
