DESCRIPTION
The laboratory Chemist is responsible for testing XRD samples and analyzing the test results. Will also assist the lab technicians with any issues and/or rotation.
RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Receives XRD sample and determine if it can be analyzed.
- Grind sample.
- Prepare sample for testing.
- Analyze results and determine if further testing is necessary.
- Enter data on AMT and send out to customers, account managers, and/or other labs.
- Performs Complete Water Analysis: preparation of samples to be ran on the ICP and IC instruments; records the data for each sample and transfers it into our database.
- Solids and Millipore analysis.
- Coupons are soaked in xylene and then weighed, and the results are entered into our database
- Residual testing each sample to be ran through a series of steps to determine if any chemical residual is left in the sample.
- Cold finger analysis.
- Preparation of carryover samples.
- QC of raw chemical and blends.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Previous lab experience in the Production Chemical industry is a huge plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. at any given time, no greater than 20% of the time.
- Daily physical demands of the position include, but are not limited to: sitting, standing, bending, climbing, agility, reaching, trunk movements, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
