Status: Full-time
Salary: Negotiable and based on experience & licensure
Schedule: Flexible scheduling with rotating weekend shifts required

Stratford Hills Veterinary Center is a well-established, three-doctor small animal practice in Richmond, VA, seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative, compassionate team.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Provide compassionate nursing care and support for patients
  • Confidently restrain patients for exams and procedures
  • Administer medications and vaccines orally, topically, and subcutaneously
  • Perform laboratory testing on blood and urine samples
  • Obtain diagnostic radiographs using proper positioning techniques
  • Maintain accurate digital medical records
  • Educate clients on medications, preventative care, and treatment plans
  • Support surgical, dental, and emergency procedures while maintaining excellent patient care standards

What Our Veterinary Teams Bring

  • Experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician
  • Strong patient handling and technical skills
  • Knowledge of commonly used medications and preventatives
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and client service abilities
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Passion for veterinary medicine and exceptional patient care
  • Fear Free certification and Avimark experience are a plus, but not required
