Join our team as a Patient Welcome Associate I, where you will serve as the first point of contact for patients arriving at Emory facilities. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference by creating a positive and smooth experience for every patient you encounter.

 

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Greets and acknowledges all patients, guests, and employees entering the facilities with a smile and an appropriate salutation (e.g., good morning, good afternoon ).
  • Welcomes all customers following the Emory Healthcare customer service model to ensure a warm, positive experience.
  • Assists patients with check-in, including utilizing online apps and troubleshooting any issues they encounter.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff to address concerns and resolve complaints in real-time, engaging leaders as needed for service recovery.
  • Maintains a clean and organized environment, ensuring that the entrance, waiting rooms, and storage spaces are free of trash and debris.
  • Keeps workstations sanitized, stocked, and addresses sanitation needs in entry areas.
  • Performs administrative tasks such as confirming and updating patient demographics, registration, updating insurance information, scheduling, entering referrals, and collecting copays.
  • Frequently rounds on patients in the waiting room, proactively ensuring their comfort and addressing any immediate needs.
  • May be required to float or travel to other areas or locations as business needs arise.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Empathy and compassion when interacting with patients and their families, ensuring they feel valued and cared for.
  • Physical Requirements: Frequent standing and walking (50% of the workday) and occasional sitting (50% of the workday).

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic digital literacy and comfort navigating multiple software applications simultaneously.
  • Ability to learn new processes, procedures, and software quickly, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Successful completion of software training upon hire.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability.
  • Ability to pass a Customer Service Assessment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.



ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
