About Camp Tanager
Established in 1926, Camp Tanager provides day and overnight camp programs to over 1,000 campers each summer. Campers from all backgrounds are welcome to attend our programs designed for fun, fitness, friendship and learning. Camp Tanager was voted Coolest Camp in Iowa in 2016 by The Philadelphia Inquirer for our unique and expansive program offerings.

Job Details
The Camp Lifeguard will be responsible for the coordination of pool activities and for basic pool maintenance. This position will monitor activities and direct scanning of the swimming pool and adjacent areas to prevent injuries, accidents or drownings. Also, lifeguards will attempt to modify dangerous campers' behaviors and enforce all pool rules and regulations by strongly and quickly addressing behaviors. Individuals in this role will recognize and respond effectively to incidents and emergencies
Acceptable Experience/Training/Education
- Must be 16 years of age
- Current Lifeguarding Certificate successfully completed prior to start date
- Ability to communicate at all levels, particularly with children
