Responsibilities
1. Consents patients prior to testing.
2. Performs patient assessments prior to testing or as needed. (Including auscultation).
3. Starts IV’s and administers medications for stress procedures and nuclear procedures.
4. Monitors patients for adverse reactions.
5. Completes worksheets and study templates.
6. Responds to emergent situations as directed by physician or standing order.
7. Administers passive aerosol treatments and finger sticks for testing sugar.
8. Assists with crash cart checks and stocking – daily, weekly and monthly.
9. Assists with the maintenance of crash carts and glucose caddys in the pods.
10. Performs Cardiology Technician duties preferred (see job description).
11. Follows established guidelines and protocols to deliver safe, patient-centered,
compassionate, competent care.
12. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills to provide exceptional patient and family
experience.
13. Maintains complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation.
14. Participates in performance improvement activities and meeting clinic/departmental
goals.
15. Maintains a clean, neat, orderly and safe work area.
16. Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Licensed as Paramedic
- Proficiency in identifying cardiac rhythms and understanding of 12 lead EKG interpretation
**Paramedic will complete in office stress testing.**
