Job Summary:

The Volunteer for Good Coordinator leads the development and implementation of the Volunteer for Good initiative (VFG) in all of the Granite School District high schools. The incumbent trains and works with school-level VFG leaders in the promotion and implementation of volunteer efforts and student recognition associated with the VFG initiative.  Responsibilities include coordinating marketing of the initiative, tracking student progress, training school teams on the Golden platform, organizing and promoting volunteer opportunities, and coordinating student certificates and graduation recognitions associated with volunteering.

Essential Functions:
 

  • Leads development and implementation of high school Volunteer for Good initiative.
  • Collaborates with district and school departments and committees on Volunteer for Good implementation and volunteer efforts.
  • Trains and coaches district and school-level teams on the Volunteer for Good platform, Golden.
  • Collaborates with community partners around student volunteering.
  • Attends district-level professional learning and cross-departmental team meetings.

  • Competence in Microsoft Office tools, Google tools, and web page development and maintenance.

  • Ability to work as part of the CCR team.

  • Ability to solve problems in creative and unique ways.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


Required Education and Qualifications:
 

  • Requires a Utah State Board of Education (USBE) cleared criminal background check.
  • Requires one of the following:
    • a valid Professional Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with any professional license areas of concentration; or
    • an equivalent license in another state.


Required Prior Experience:
 

  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years of educational experience.

  • Interacts and collaborates with employees, board members, patrons, vendors, administrators, and secretaries in schools.
  • Works positively and collaboratively with District departments including administrators and secretaries.

Working Environment:
 

  • Work takes place in a typical office environment.
  • Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
