Job Overview
Responsible for driving double digit loan portfolio expansion across consumer lending solutions, while maintaining exceptional credit quality and member customer service. This leader develops and executes a comprehensive lending strategy that integrates loan acquisition, cross-sell from deposit relationships, strategic partnerships to increase market share, and loan application volume. The role works in close partnership with community impact, financial centers, deposits, and service operations to create a fully integrated financial relationship model where every member becomes a loan opportunity. Key outcomes include year over year growth in loan originations, improved loan-to-share ratios, reduced application to funding cycle times, and enhanced member experience scores, all while adhering to NCUA Regulations, Fair Lending, and risk management standards. This leader embodies a growth mindset, shifts fixed lending cultures toward proactive sales and service excellence, and leverages data (including Call Report loan schedules) to identify opportunities for yield optimization and portfolio diversification. Your primary focus will be on upholding compliance with lending policies, procedures, and regulations, all while providing leadership to the team. This position reports to the Vice President of Consumer Lending.

Salary Range
$83,269.00-$124,903.00
Skills & Experience
- Education - Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years lending experience
- Minimum of 5 years of lending authority
- Minimum 3 years managerial experience in lending or within the financial industry
- Proven experience in lending operations within a credit union or financial institution.
- Leadership experience with a focus on team development and collaboration.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities
- Understanding of financial industry concepts, related laws, and regulations
- Deep understanding of financial statements, tax return analysis, and complex underwriting guidelines.
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
- Excellent interviewing, communication, and public relations skills.
- Ability to work in stressful, high pressure situations.

Role Description and Essential Duties
- The Loan Center Manager is responsible and accountable for planning, organizing, and directing the consumer loan and credit card portfolio including monitoring the portfolio, risk, and forecasting.
- The work in this position requires demonstrating a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide first-class, frictionless member services.
- Directs and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in consumer lending, loan processing, loan servicing, and member insurance functions to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensures that consumer lending activities result in maximum healthy volume, appropriate profit for the Credit Union, and a minimal delinquency/charge-off ratio.
- Create an environment focused on a digital strategy and on finding more efficient ways for members and partners to interact with the credit union.
- Focus on optimizing loan process workflows and underwriting methodologies to improve efficiency.
- Analyzes and develops consumer loan products, services, and delivery methods to meet and maximize the member experience.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Liaison with internal business units to resolve complex loan issues, perform lien perfection, and support new loan product development.
- Monitor market trends and competitive interest rates to ensure our products remain a top choice for members
- Completes required reports and related documents promptly and accurately, and in compliance with Credit Union guidelines and policies
- Provides leadership to assigned personnel by setting clear objectives, delegating, and communicating effectively.
- Ensures that personnel are well-trained, effective, and optimally used.
- Takes charge of situations to resolve them in a timely and effective manner.

Risk Mitigation & Compliance
- Responsible for analyzing and preparing required reports accurately and timely for monthly board meeting and management review.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and maintain quality controls to minimize delinquency and charge off ratios.
- Uphold high ethical standards in sales practices and fraud prevention measures.
- Ensures the consumer lending operation complies with established policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Instructs personnel on policy, procedures, and program changes, and ensures they are well informed about related legal and regulatory developments
- Lead the department in maintaining a "perpetually audit ready" state, ensuring all loan files and servicing records meet internal, state, and NCUA examination standards.
- Responsible for complying with all laws, statutes, rules and regulations which govern the credit union, including but not limited to all components of the all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) rules and regulations, in addition to Customer Identification Program (CIP), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags and other compliance related Policies. Attends required annual BSA training and required compliance training.
