Job Description
The Delivery Supervisor is responsible for the training (including CDL training), development, and performance of Drivers and Assistants/Helpers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage the work of Drivers and Assistants/Helpers to ensure work is done effectively, efficiently, and timely. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Manage routes and adhere to route schedules
- Cultivate time management behaviors to compliment routing analysis and budgeted time by employee
- Fill in, when needed, on delivery routes due to vacation/illness/other voids
- Train, monitor and evaluate performance of Drivers and Assistants/Helpers to confirm ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment in the transport and delivery of Company product(s). Training will include, but not be limited to:
- Beginning of day procedures, including pre-trip inspections
- Safe operation of Company equipment
- Account delivery procedures
- Rotation, filling coolers and shelves, building displays and proper placement of point of sale
- Customer service standards, i.e. courteous and professional, communication with all retailers, vendors, and consumers
- End of day procedures, including post-trip inspections
- Ride with and/or follow behind Drivers to ensure deliveries are made to Company standards in a timely and professional manner.
- Be prepared to take corrective action to improve any deficiencies in assigned staff performance through counseling and/or progressive discipline forms.
- Continual communication with the Distribution Manager relative to: (a) personnel performance; (b) delivery route opportunities/inefficiencies/performance; and (c) equipment needs/issues.
- Respond immediately to any customer concerns or complaints.
- Responsible for ensuring all time worked by Drivers and Assistants/Helpers is properly and accurately recorded utilizing the appropriate, designated modes of timekeeping.
- Maintain open and clear communications with the owners, managers, and other employees of the Company.

- Education – high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience – one (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Licensing –
- valid Commercial Driver License
- current U.S. Department of Transportation Medical Examiner’s Certificate
