Payroll Operations Specialist

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Independently process full-cycle payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness .
  2. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee pay issues .
  3. Partner with People Team, Benefits, and BT to support cross-functional accuracy .
  4. Maintain understanding of multi-state payroll requirements .
  5. Assist with testing of system changes, configuration updates, integrations and enhancements .
  6. Collaborate with internal partners to ensure seamless employee experience .
  7. Identify recurring issues or inefficiencies and propose process improvements to enhance accuracy and workflow .
  8. Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining SOPs and documentation .
  9. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives .
  10. Support month, quarter, and year-end activities and requests .
  11. Maintain high levels of confidentiality .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Working knowledge of payroll fundamentals.
  2. Proficiency with Payroll or HRIS systems (UKG, PeopleSoft).
  3. Intermediate Excel skills and comfort with learning and leveraging new technology.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  5. Excellent customer service skills.
  6. Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

A credit history check from a national credit bureau will be conducted for all candidates for this position including new hires and current employees seeking promotion or transfer. This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
