
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
Job Description
What You’ll Do:
- Perform or supervise the performance of an anesthetic experience in collaboration with appropriate physician throughout the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases of anesthesia and surgery
- Administer monitored anesthesia care
- Examine patient, obtain medical history, and use diagnostic tests to determine risk during surgical and medical procedures
- Schedule and maintain use of surgical site, including operating, wash-up, waiting rooms, and anesthetic and sterilizing equipment
- Monitor, document and manage patient reactions to anesthesia and surgery
- Manage fluid therapy, perform and manage invasive monitoring, and perform post-operative evaluations
- Develop an anesthetic plan based on a preanesthetic evaluation
- Attend and participate in professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities.
What You’ll Need:
- Must have and maintain a current license to practice in nursing as a registered nurse in the state of Texas. Must hold current certification from an approved national CRNA certifying body. This certification must be maintained and recertified every 2 years. Must have and maintain current certification in BCLS and ACLS. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient’s age-specific needs is required.
- Must have a Master’s degree from an accredited program. Must be a graduate from an accredited baccalaureate degree program, to include pre-medical curriculum with course work in general and organic chemistry, advanced college math, general and advanced biology and physics.
- 2 years of experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and knowledge of surgical procedures, specifically Orthopaedics and Pain Management.
- Basic computer knowledge; read/write English; Spanish a plus.
- Other duties as assigned as necessary and may vary at times, as needed, by your immediate supervisor or as directed by the company.
- Requires extensive mobility (walking and standing) while performing duties. Periodic pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients and/or equipment. May have exposure to patients with communicable diseases. May have exposure to hazardous equipment or agents.
