Position Overview
SteerBridge is seeking a qualified Construction Manager - Electrical Engineer (EE) to support construction, renovation, and infrastructure upgrade efforts for the Department of Veterans Affairs at the VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System in Biloxi, MS.
This is an on-site role. The Electrical Engineer will work directly within an active construction environment, supporting project execution through coordination, field inspections, and quality assurance oversight. This position requires close collaboration with contractors, engineers, and government stakeholders to ensure compliance with project requirements and construction standards.
Limited local or regional travel may be required in support of project needs.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field (required; no substitutions)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required
- OSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification (required)
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting major construction projects in a construction management, inspection, program controls, or construction administration capacity
- Experience working in active construction environments performing inspections and coordination
- Strong understanding of electrical systems within construction projects
- U.S. Citizenship required (for clearance eligibility)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal or VA construction projects
- Familiarity with construction management processes and documentation workflows
- Experience working in healthcare or other highly regulated environments
Key Responsibilities
- Support construction activities through coordination with contractors, project teams, and VA stakeholders
- Perform field inspections to evaluate installation quality and identify non-conforming work
- Review electrical systems and ensure compliance with contract documents, codes, and specifications
- Assist in managing construction documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Support schedule and progress tracking, including evaluation of work in place
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical input as needed
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, including OSHA and project-specific requirements
- Support QA/QC efforts throughout the lifecycle of construction projects
