Voice & Network Engineer IV
Job Description
The Voice & Network Engineer IV serves as the Subject Matter Expert and highest individual contributor in the Telecom / Network organization. This role provides expert-level support across enterprise telephony (PBX, VoIP, SIP, Asterisk), networking (switching, dynamic routing including OSPF or equivalent, QoS), and cloud calling platforms (Webex, Teams).
The SME is the final technical escalation point, leads high-impact projects, owns vendor and carrier negotiations, and provides backup coverage for the Telephony / Network Team Manager. The role partners directly with the Sales / Business organization on contact center solution design, M&A integration scoping, and executive briefings, and owns multi-region project delivery across the Americas including LATAM. Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus.
Contributes to standards, documentation, and long-term technical strategy across TD SYNNEX’s global Technology Infrastructure organization.

What You’ll Do:
- Provide SME-level telephony depth — Asterisk programming and optimization, voice database configuration, SIP trunk architecture, and deep carrier and PSTN troubleshooting. (30%)
- Lead network engineering depth — switch architecture, OSPF (or equivalent), QoS architecture for voice, multi-site WAN / LAN, security for voice (ACLs, segmentation), and wireless leadership. (20%)
- Own cloud calling platforms at the leadership level — Webex Calling platform ownership, Webex Contact Center design, Microsoft Teams Calling policy and licensing, hybrid voice topology, cloud-PSTN integration, and migration projects. (15%)
- Provide technical leadership, project management, and business engagement — final technical escalation, project leadership, vendor and carrier negotiation, multi-region / LATAM project ownership, direct partnership with the Sales / Business organization on contact center design and M&A integration, and manager backup on operational decisions. (15%)
- Mentor across the team and set technical standards — team-wide mentoring, knowledge transfer, RCA leadership, and final escalation point for L1–L3 staff. (10%)
- Lead Microsoft Teams Rooms, Webex Devices, and video conferencing platform architecture as opportunity arises. (5%)
- Set operational standards — on-call ownership, change-management ownership, and multi-site operations. (5%)
What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of enterprise telecom and network engineering experience.
- Expert-level understanding of telephony (PBX, VoIP, SIP) and data networking.
- Extensive Asterisk experience (or equivalent enterprise PBX) at the architecture and programming level.
- Advanced experience configuring and troubleshooting network switches, dynamic routing (OSPF or equivalent), and QoS for voice.
- Experience leading and owning Webex Calling, Webex Contact Center, and Microsoft Teams Calling.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Sales / Business stakeholders on contact center design, M&A integration, or executive-level technical briefings.
- Experience leading multi-region / LATAM project delivery; bilingual English / Spanish a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technically, mentor others, manage complex projects, and act as a vendor and carrier escalation point.

Other Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, telecom, networking, or related field preferred.
- CCNA required; CCNP preferred; CCIE a plus.
- Asterisk dCAP / dCAA or equivalent expert-level telecom certification preferred.
- Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer or Microsoft Teams Rooms certification a plus.
- ITIL Foundation a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Remote with occasional on-site IDF / closet work as needed.
- On-call availability required as necessary.
- Professional environment.
- Some travel may be required for project delivery and site work.
