Job Description

Assoc Absence Management Case Manager (Contract)
Job Summary
- The Associate Absence Case Manager is responsible for supporting the Absence Management team by managing the intake process and assignments of cases. The role involves working closely with Candidates, Employees, Healthcare Providers, and
- Leadership to provide guidance and recommendations on absence management practices. Additionally, this role will review case files, provide guidance, and communicate the company’s Absence Management Policies to applicants, interviewees, and Employees.
Responsibilities
- Construct, Process absence management requests by documenting case notes and ensuring the appropriate forms have been completed in order to provide a prompt and thorough response
- Support the absence management program by helping to identify, prioritize, and build capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes in alignment with business goals
- Process requests by Internal and External Customers by providing guidance, coaching, and recommendations regarding Accommodations, (i.e. Medical reassignment and Fit for duty), FMLA, Leave Management, OJI policies, processes, and procedures
- Collect and organize medical information as it relates to an individual’s ability to perform essential job functions by ensuring the proper documentation has been completed and corresponding and/or negotiating with various stakeholders in order to facilitate an effective and reasonable return to work plan
- Identify program gaps and opportunities for growth by documenting processes, recommending improvements, and sharing best practices to ensure the continued success of program initiatives
- Provide support throughout the Absence Management life cycle by ensuring regular communication, providing progress updates, offering guidance, responding to questions, and communicating decisions Process frequently requested absence management requests with thoroughness by reviewing medical information, ensuring proper documentation has been completed and received, determining the appropriate accommodation, distributing approval
- letters, and providing guidance
- Support Absence Management projects by providing subject matter expertise including research, detailed planning, and implementation
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of ADA, FMLA, Leave Management, OJI and state and federal laws
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services, including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer satisfaction
- Skilled in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information
- Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among unrelated events)
- Ability to produce unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, which does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
- Ability to handle confidential information with care
- Ability to articulate information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
Required:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- Entry level experience, developing skills and knowledge in:
- Absence Management (ADA, FMLA, Leave Management, and OJI)
Licensing/Certification:
- N/A
Physical Abilities:
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications:
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay
- Competitive market rate from $30.00-$35.00 hour* depending on qualifications and experience.
Assignment Length
- This contract is a 5 month assignment, and the duration may be modified based on business need.
- Pay amount doesn’t guarantee employment for any particular period
