Overview

The University of Southampton, in partnership with Oxford International Education Group (OIEG), has successfully launched its first international campus in India, located in Gurgaon, Delhi. This initiative, developed in response to India's New Education Policy, represents a significant investment in transnational education. The campus provides Indian students with the opportunity to earn a globally recognised degree without leaving the country.

Job purpose

To conduct campus tours leading to application generation and maximising the visitors’ experience.

Taking ownership of a lead and application pipeline and utilising tools such as HubSpot to drive conversion targets, while ensuring that students and parents receive appropriate counselling and leave with the best possible impression of the University of Southampton Delhi.

Coordinating with students and parents for admissions, information, queries, and any other administrative or support responsibilities as outlined from time to time with a view to converting qualified leads into applications and applicants into depositors.

The role holder will provide high-quality support and guidance to students throughout the enquiry, campus tours and application process. This involves detailed follow-up with students, answering enquiries and follow up with internal stakeholders to ensure that applications and enquiries lead to enrolments. The role will collaborate with both the Recruitment & Outreach and Admissions teams.

The role also involves analysis and interpretation of lead data to advise on performance and inform future activity and report to stakeholders on conversion KPIs and metrics.  


Main Duties and Responsibilities

Counselling & Conversion Management
  • Take candidates from initial qualified lead all the way to enrolment
  • Counsel qualified leads towards submitting quality applications for the university’s programmes
  • Counsel applicants at all stages towards successful enrolment into the campus programmes.
  • In this process, develop a deep understanding of each student's educational and career background to recommend relevant courses that align with their goals
  • Hold consultative conversations with students through phone, Zoom, and face-to-face interactions - understand goals and needs, research best fit options, discuss and mutually agree on the application.
  • Offer expert assistance and advice to students on academic programmes and other application procedures.
  • Effectively follow up with students at each stage of the process and meet the agreed metrics and deliverables.

Collaboration: recruitment and marketing initiatives, collaboration and support
  • Support conversion/ enrolment initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Recruitment & Outreach, as well as the Admissions teams on student email communication, marketing, and service recommendations.
  • Present and participate in workshops, webinars and events as needed.
  • Be in frequent contact with other team members to develop collegial and collaborative relationships and support student progress.
Data inputs and analysis
  • Track and maintain data on students through the CRM and Data Systems.
  • Communicate with prospective applicants and applicants, providing a high level of service and a strong applicant experience as a priority. 
  • Input accurate and standardised data into the company-designated CRM system to keep each customer record updated.
  • Collaborate with partners to nurture prospective applicants, clarify queries promptly, and ensure a smooth transition through the admissions process until deposit.
  • Contribute, as a member of the Recruitment & Admissions department, towards broader initiatives to ensure and implement excellent applicant and student experience. This includes participation in cross-functional activities such as international student registration, open days, conversion activity, and student recruitment events.
  • Any other duties as allocated by the line manager following consultation with the post holder.

Special Requirements
  • Adherence to University of Southampton Delhi policies. 
  • Occasional requirements to work outside your normal working hours (which may include evenings or weekends) in negotiation with your line manager.
  • Minimum 50% travel within India.




Person Specifications

Qualification & Experience
  • Bachelor's in a relevant field.
  • 5 Years of Experience in supporting student recruitment
  • Experience in higher education.  Experience of working with a top-ranked university is an advantage 
  • Experience in supporting enquiries from the lead stage through to enrolment. Experienced in offering consultative counselling, working, monitoring and maintenance of university partnerships for the benefit of the broader institution.
  • Experience with CRM systems and ability to analyse data, provide reports and to propose corrective action
  • High level of competence using IT, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Evidence of having achieved the targets in conversion
  • Master's level qualification in Marketing & Sales. (Desirable)
  • Evidence of delivery to the target in a marketing environment. (Desirable)
  • Experience Related to Tech, Engineering and Computer Science Programmes (Desirable)
  • Market research and analysis experience. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of CRM systems for recruitment and conversion (Desirable)
  • Experience of using a range of data analytics to inform strategy. (Desirable)
