BRANCH MANAGER
Role Description: This position is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, developing and directing of the non-manufacturing location. The purpose of this management position is to support the sales and marketing efforts of Kimal Lumber through operational functionality and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall planning, maintaining, directing and developing strategies for achieving location sales, performance and financial goals, directly involved in annual budgeting process
Evaluate and monitor expectations, skill-development and performance of location personnel, hold personnel accountable to company policies and performance standards, hiring, training, reviews, disciplinary discussions, documentation of all formal associate interaction and behavior management
Maintain cleanliness and organization of location facility and inventory, as well as proper maintenance of all location equipment and machinery in coordination with corporate Operations Manager
Develop and maintain strategies to meet company financial goals for the location- revenue, margins, expenses, Operating Income and profits. Meet agreed upon benchmark goals with regards to the operational performance of the location, as well as the financial performance
As part of Leadership Team, help define direction of company and identify areas of enhancement or improvement
Represent the company at meetings and other industry functions, as well as making presentations when necessary
Responsible for handling customer complaints and finding reasonable solutions for mutual benefit of the customer and Kimal
Assist in collecting receivables and resolving credit issues
Any other tasks as assigned by management
Skills Needed:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), as well as two years leadership experience in the industry.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Have a good knowledge of products that Kimal sells (doors, mouldings, windows, trusses, lumber, etc.)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, organizational skills and motivational skills needed
Physical Demands:
These physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Regularly required to walk, see, talk and hear. Often required to stand, crouch, or sit.
Regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds. Occasionally required to lift up to 50lbs.
Regularly required to see clearly with close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
