ExxonMobil’s affiliates in India supporting the Product Solutions business engage in the marketing, sales and distribution of performance as well as specialty products across chemicals and lubricants businesses. The India planning teams are also embedded with global business units for business planning and analytics.

 

ExxonMobil’s LNG affiliate in India supporting the upstream business provides consultant services for other ExxonMobil upstream affiliates and conducts LNG market-development activities.

 

The Global Business Center - Technology Center provides a range of technical and business support services for ExxonMobil’s operations around the globe.

What role you will play in our team


We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and resourceful Solution Architect to join our team at ExxonMobil’s Bengaluru office. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong communication and collaboration skills. You will be responsible for architecture that aligns with organizational goals, scalability, security, and performance standards in ExxonMobil’s Upstream business.

What you will do

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Builds and manages groups of systems and/or integrated solutions within a business or technology capability
  • Focuses on solution/product enablement by leveraging existing reference architectures, technology strategies, business capabilities, and gaps to deliver optimal solutions based on intentional prioritization
    Maintains an end-to-end view of any connected systems
  • Works with other architects/product management roles to define the solution/product direction to meet current and future requirements (strategy and roadmaps)
  • Works mostly across conceptual & logical architecture levels; creates the logical reference architecture diagrams
  • Partner with, delivery teams and new initiatives to drive alignment of solutions to reference architectures and strategies (includes guiding technology evaluations and prototype development)
  • Engages and influences vendors to identify, learn and socialize emerging product capabilities to meet business needs
  • Support technical details required for Procurement and S&C processes
  • Evaluates the existing operating environment to determine effectiveness and suggest changes to meet organizational requirements along with identification of redundant/ineffective systems
  • Applies technical expertise to craft feature solutions that abide within the architectural guidelines established by the Enterprise / BDAT Architects
  • Ensures enablement work is prioritized for the product
  • Serves as technical mentor / leader for program and product teams
  • Generally supports multiple delivery teams
  • Not expected to take on multiple roles within the organization
  • Partners with Product Management roles to identify and prioritize enabler work


Other Expectations

  • Serves as a technical leader for one IT delivery team
  • Expected to be the architect role with the most depth of knowledge for the Solutions within their scope
  • Not expected to take on multiple roles within the organization, although it will fill in the System Architect role
  • Acts as Cloud Subscription Owner for the systems within their scope, but they may delegate custodianship to a team member
  • Architects solutions for MSP's to implement. Validates implementations and the quality of technical outcomes from MSP's
  • May take on the Project Lead Architect role for specific projects
  • May implement (hands-on) the foundational architectural components of a technical solution, or PoC them

 

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on as Architect.
  • Minimum 7 years of overall experinece.
