Job Summary
As Director of Surgical Services, supervise patient care in Baylor Scott and White Health surgical settings. This includes various departments. Create goals for surgical departments and align them with overall patient care goals. Also, develop policies to improve patients' surgical outcomes and experiences.
Essential Functions of the Role
- You will closely monitor surgical units, swiftly implementing corrective measures when required, to uphold our commitment to top-tier patient care.
- Your responsibilities include preparing detailed reports for executives, with critical information on surgical procedures, duration, call backs, and stats.
- You are responsible for managing operating room schedules and coordinating with anesthesia, physicians, and nursing teams.
- You'll be responsible for sterilization procedures. This includes packaging, labeling, record-keeping, distribution, storage, and recall.
- Monitoring unsterile and outdated supplies is vital to maintain safety in the operating room.
Key Success Factors
- Previous exposure to collaborating amidst several departments and clinical divisions within a sizable, intricate healthcare institution would be advantageous.
- Exceptional skills in problem-solving and critical thinking are required.
- Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are important.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is required.
- Applicants must be a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Must have (BLS) Basic Life Support certification or obtain it within (30) thirty days of starting the job.
