Job Description
European Train Control System (ETCS) / Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) / Signalling and Interlocking

Understanding of Trackside equipment (Lineside Electronic Units, Balises, Interlockings, Radio Block Centers) and their integration with other subsystems, i.e. Onboard, Traffic Management / Control systems., Digital Train Radio Systems (DTRS), Fixed Telecommunication Network (FTN)

Understanding of complex conventional signalling, ETCS Level 1 and Level 2.

Sydney Trains network experience, with a proven track record navigating the legacy systems currently in place on the Sydney suburban network.
Digital Train Radio / Communications Back Bone systems e.g. FTN

proven, hands-on experience within the DTRS (Digital Train Radio System) and FTN (Fixed Telecommunications Network)

working knowledge of Sydney Trains’ specific FTN and DTRS architecture, and legacy communications interfaces.
IT/OT Solution Architecture / Cyber security in the Rail Domain

Extensive previous experience with solutions architecture, business and systems requirements, and technical design and analysis in a complex and maturing technical environment

Experience with contemporary business technologies and architectural frameworks in a multi-sourced and/or federated operating environment

Knowledge of Cyber Security standards, such as IEC 62443-2-1 (Asset Owner) or IEC 62443-3-3 (System Security Requirements) in an industrial setting.
