Senior Data & Metadata Management Specialist

What you bring

 

• 6+ years of data engineering experience with 4+ years focused on integration and API solution architecture and design
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
• You are sought out for your strong understanding of Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Lineage, Data Management and Data Engineering.
• You are respected for your knowledge of Solution Development and Data Management Lifecycles.
• Advanced proficiency in programming languages, including Python, Java, Springboot, Groovy
• You are recognized for your understanding of integration patterns including RESTful architecture and patterns, APIs, event driven architecture and AI architecture.
• You are hands on in Windows Operating Systems, Unix, Linux, JSOn, Yaml, Swagger and with GCP Kubernetes (GKE), GCP Development (Dataflow, Composer, Cloud Run, Cloud Scheduler, Dataproc, Workflow etc) and deployment using a CI/CD pipeline including Git
• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring technical team members, driving technical excellence, and influencing architectural decisions across the organization
• Strong SQL and database proficiency with minimum 2 years of hands-on experience across various database technologies
• Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible
• Systems design experience with the ability to architect and explain complex systems interactions, data flows, common interfaces, and APIs
• Proven proficiency with Collibra’s Data Intelligence Platform, experienced in designing and implementing solutions and capabilities
• Experience with Dataplex / Knowledge Catalogue and other Data Governance & Metadata Platforms
• You have Architecture-level understanding of APIs, security architecture, and cloud-native development across major cloud providers including GCP.
• You are an expert communicator and strategic thinker, able to provide a consultative approach in alignment with the Telco Management Industry Framework.
• You are an excellent and effective presenter able to communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner.
• You are an effective influencer and negotiator, able to be persuasive while upholding commitments to our customers, stakeholders and TELUS' commitment to integrity.

• Collibra Ranger certification
