Full time Certified Technician Senior IV Sterile Compounding Position

Position Purpose:

Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician Senior is responsible for overseeing the daily sterile compounding operations, ensuring compliance with USP 797 and 800 standards, and support the pharmacy team in delivering safe, accurate, and timely medication preparation. This role provides leadership and mentorship to Certified Pharmacy Technicians and Trainees, and collaborates with pharmacy leadership to optimize workflow, maintain quality assurance, and uphold safety standards

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare sterile compounded medications using aseptic technique in cleanroom environment.
  • · Perform calculations and measurements for accurate compounding.
  • · Label and package compounded sterile preparations appropriately for distribution.
  • · Maintain clean room environment including daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks.
  • · Document compounding activities accurately and completely.
  • · Conduct environmental monitoring and cleaning of sterile compounding areas.
  • · Assist in inventory management of sterile products and supplies.
  • · Comply with USP 797 and USP 800.
  • · Comply with state and federal regulatory requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in compounding sterile products, including handling of chemotherapy agents and other hazardous drugs
  • · Education: High school graduation or equivalent
  • · Licensure / Certification: Approved Pharmacy Technician Certification. Active registration as a Certified Tech with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
  • · Experience: Previous pharmacy technician experience in sterile compounding is required.
  • · Completion of an accredited sterile compounding training program is recommended within the first six months from hire date.
  • · Knowledge of aseptic technique, hazardous drug handling, and compounding regulations.
  • · Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • · Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
