Purpose:
The Data Analyst is responsible for leveraging data, analytics and prospect research to identify, evaluate and prioritize constituents for all levels of philanthropic support across the region. This role partners with the development team to inform fundraising strategy through data-driven insights, portfolio analysis and performance measurement across campaigns, appeals and major gift initiatives. The Data Analyst translates donor and prospect data into actionable intelligence that strengthens pipeline development, enhances donor engagement and maximizes fundraising outcome.
As a Fundraising Data Analyst you will:
Conduct prospect research and pipeline development by identifying, analyzing and prioritizing prospective donors using wealth screening data, giving history, and engagement metrics.
Partner with gift officers to recommend prospect assignments, and support discovery, moves management and portfolio optimization.
Analyze donor behavior, giving patterns, and lifecycle trends to inform donor engagement, segmentations, and targeting strategies.
Develop and apply predictive models to assess likelihood to give, upgrade propensity, and donor lifetime value, leveraging engagement scoring models, integrated external wealth data and philanthropic indicator data.
Design and implement donor segmentation strategies for appeals, campaigns and engagement initiatives.
Develop data-driven criteria to identify high-potential donors across all giving levels.
Conduct appeal and event performance analysis using industry metrics.
Evaluate campaign and fundraising initiative performance, providing actionable recommendations to improve results.
Support forecasting and goal-setting through predictive modeling and trend analysis.
Develop, maintain and execute queries and data extracts to support fundraising, prospecting and reporting needs.
Partner with the development team to refine targeting strategies for direct mail digital campaigns and major gift outreach.
Document business rules, definitions and methodologies related to analytics, segmentation and prospect identification.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, IRS regulations, and applicable industry standards relating to donor privacy, data handling, and ethical fundraising practices.
Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Prospect Management and the Manager of Database Operations to ensure data structures, quality, and governance, support analytics and reporting requirements,
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in data analysis, database management, or development operations, preferably within a nonprofit or healthcare environment.
Experience with donor CRM systems (e.g. Blackbaud, NXT, Salesforce, or similar) required.
Experience with online fundraising platforms.
Advanced computer skills, particularly using relational databases, especially Blackbaud products.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Pivot Tables, and Word.
Pay Range: $29.38 - $45.54
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
