Multiple temporary (24 month) full-time or part time job share vacancies. 35 hours per week. Location: Sydney City, Parramatta, Wollongong, Gosford, Newcastle. Flexible and hybrid working options available. Clerk Grade: Level 5/6. Base salary $ 99,938 p.a. to $ 110,271 p.a. plus 12% superannuation and annual leave loading. About the team The Public Guardian can be appointed by a court or tribunal to make health and lifestyle decisions for people who are unable to on their own, or with support. These include decisions such as where a person might live, their medical and dental treatment, health care, and other services. It also provides information and support to private and enduring guardians, service providers and the wider community. Service Delivery operational teams provide our core guardianship service across the state. Practice and Strategy teams provide systemic advocacy, stakeholder engagement and support both customers and employees in their practice of guardianship. Establishment and Quality Assurance teams provide responsive onboarding for new guardianship matters. About the role As a Senior Guardian, you will deliver quality guardianship services within a defined region of NSW, supporting people with complex needs to achieve the best possible outcomes. The role involves managing a caseload of guardianship matters, undertaking advocacy, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. You will prepare reports and recommendations, contribute to formal decision ‑ making processes, and participate in hearings where required. The role also has a supervisory element, providing guidance and support to Guardians and contributing to consistent, high ‑ quality practice across the team. Senior Guardians work closely with Principal Guardians and Managers and play a key role in resolving complex or contentious matters with professionalism, empathy and sound judgement. About you You are an experienced professional with a strong commitment to person ‑ centred practice and advocacy for people in vulnerable circumstances. You are confident managing complex matters, communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders, and working effectively in sensitive and challenging situations. You will also demonstrate: Experience in guardianship, disability, health, social or community services, or a related field Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing The ability to work collaboratively with families, carers, service providers and government agencies Sound judgement, resilience and professionalism in complex or contentious matters Experience providing support or guidance to colleagues in an operational environment Highly Regarded Demonstrated knowledge of guardianship Sound like you?
