The pay rate for this role is $23.00/hour.
Job Description
A Shipping and Inventory Technician is responsible for the execution and support of shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities for the Kansas facility, inclusive of laboratory and vivarium areas. This position supports accurate movement, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies. Additionally, the role provides basic support for metrology and equipment calibration activities under established procedures and direction. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with applicable regulations, site procedures, and study protocols.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, ship, and receive materials including biological specimens, test articles, formulation samples, chemicals, and general supplies.
- Utilize approved shipping systems and carriers to process outbound and inbound shipments.
- Track shipping information and communicate shipment status to internal stakeholders.
- Receive vendor shipments and notify applicable departments of receipt.
- Perform data entry for received materials into the inventory control system.
- Sort, stock, and distribute supplies to designated locations according to schedule or direction.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify supervision of low stock or replenishment needs.
- Order routine consumables and maintain inventory in assigned supply areas.
- Properly handle and distribute chemicals, test materials, and biohazardous materials in compliance with site and regulatory requirements.
- Support basic equipment calibration activities under supervision.
- Maintain calibration and equipment documentation as directed.
- Coordinate with internal groups or external vendors to support scheduled equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Perform general housekeeping duties and follow all safety procedures.
- Develop familiarity with business continuity procedures when systems are temporarily unavailable.
- Embody behaviors and performance characteristics as described in the CRL DNA.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education and education: HS/GED required with 2-3 years’ experience. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Competency required for departmental technical skills.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Computer skills, including the ability to learn a validated system.
- Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice.
- Ability to work under specific time constraints.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa, now or in the future
