Job Summary

Summer Student position – Animal Food Room Clerk - No Experience required

As an Animal Food Room Clerk for our Toxicology team at the Laval location, you will perform food management and prepare daily enrichment given to animals in a way that respects established processes.

In this role, primary responsibilities include:

• Perform the preparation of food, fruits and enrichment for animals to meet quality standards, while providing service to vivarium staff;
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment;
• Report any problem or potential problem in the conduct of daily activities to the Supervisor or delegate;
• Ensure the integrity of the studies and fulfill the regulatory agencies requirements by performing the activities according to the Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) rules.

Key Elements

If you have the following qualifications, we'll train you for the rest:

• High School diploma or equivalence;
• Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.);
• Able to follow precises instructions and procedures;
• Ability to manage time effectively;
• Ability to work autonomously.

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.

Role Specific Information:

• Location: 445 Boul. Armand-Frappier, Laval, QC, H7V 4B3;
• Transportation: Free parking. Near the Montmorency Subway. Electric vehicle charging station;
• Salary: $18.25/hrs;
• Temporary position, student job;
• Schedule:
  • Summer period: 37.5 hours/week. Monday to Friday daytime, but you may have to do some weekends on rotation depending on the needs.
  • School period: 15 hours/week. Mostly on weekends, but you can provide more availabilities during the week depending on your schedule.
