Job Overview
As a Student Laboratory Clerk for our Sample Processing team located in Senneville, you will mainly be responsible for sample preparation, retrieving all specimens and transport them in a timely manner to the laboratory. Your success will ensure the smooth running of our research, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.
In this role, primary responsibilities include:
- Prepares the required material for the study conduct according to information received and keep a functional inventory of the required material
- Conduct the preparation and the distribution of biological samples
- Perform the filing, archiving, transfer, or disposal of material
- Printing and labelling of samples (blood, urine, etc.)
- Retrieving and transportation of collected samples to the appropriate laboratory
Key Elements
If you possess the following qualifications, we will train you in the rest:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Passion for science
- Good attention to details
- Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.)
- Understanding of written English is mandatory. Bilingualism French and English is preferable
Role Specific Information:
- Location: 22022 route Transcanadienne, Senneville, QC, H9X 1C1
- Transportation: We offer a free shuttle service from the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue train station and John Abbott College to the Senneville site. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station
- Salary: $17.50 per hour with primes of :
- Evenings: $2.50;
- Weekend: $2.75;
- Overtime: Time and a half;
- Holidays: Double time;
- Schedule: Weekdays, between Monday to Friday. Depending on the needs, you may have to do overtime on weekends
- Temporary position for the summer period, full-time at 37.5hrs per week, possibility to stay part time after summer to be discussed (minimum 1 day/weekend + holiday).
