We have an exciting career opportunity for a Sample Shipping Co-Ordinator. This role is full time, on site and is located in our world class facility in Tranent (EH33 2NE).

In this hands‑on role, as a Sample Shipping Coordinator for the Sample Shipping Logistics team located at the Edinburgh site, you will play a critical part in the coordination and shipment of biological samples and test/control materials that support vital scientific studies.
You will work closely with Internal team, couriers, and global consignees, you’ll ensure shipments are prepared accurately, compliant with regulations, and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities and Experience
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and organize Samples and Test Materials for Shipment
- Shipment Packing/Labeling/Marking and tracking
- Deal with Study directors to plan shipment of their study materials
- Verify and organize shipment through border via company courier
- Fill in appropriate documentation for shipment purposes
- Liaise with consignees to ensure they have their import requirements in place
- Understanding and assigning relevant HTS codes to materials
- Understanding and assigning cost to shipments
- Ensure that work is performed in accordance with the requirements of a study plan and in full compliance with GLP, where these conditions apply
Experience and requirements
- Experience in shipping biological samples or test materials
- IATA certification is an asset
- Knowledge and application of GLP
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time constraints and requirements to adapt to change.
- Work with precision, pay attention to detail, and strive for quality work.
- Detail oriented and meticulous
- Manual handling – this role is focused on moving and handling of items and will require moving and handling of equipment and shipping items
