Position Summary
The Senior Energy Analyst supports the Energy Management team by leveraging Building Automation Systems (BAS) and integrated smart building technologies to identify inefficiencies, optimize performance, and deliver actionable insights across a multi-site portfolio. This role combines analytical expertise with foundational mechanical knowledge to drive energy savings, water conservation, and operational improvements.
In addition to HVAC optimization, this position oversees data integration from specialized systems such as pool controllers, water meters, and lighting controls. You will provide project management and administrative support for these initiatives, including financial tracking, vendor coordination, and asset data management. Working closely with the internal Controls Lead and engineering teams, you will ensure that all connected systems provide reliable, high-integrity data to our analytics platform
Job Duties/Responsibilities
System Performance & Optimization
- Analyze HVAC BAS data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities.
- Provide data-based justification for temperature setpoints and scheduling strategies to ensure operational consistency
- Extract insights from specialized systems, including pool controllers and water monitoring platforms, to improve run times and utility savings
- Make recommendations for retro-commissioning efforts and assist in validating performance improvements after implementation.
Strategic Analytics & Platform Development
- Develop dashboards and reports that provide actionable, data-driven decisions for leadership to ensure adherence to energy strategies
- Assess and help develop analytics platform systems to streamline the ingestion and combination of various building data streams.
- Maintain and support the analytics platform, ensuring high data integrity and the continuous evolution of platform capabilities
Implementation & Alarming
- Assist with project planning and coordination for controls upgrades and system integrations.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external vendors to develop and refine advanced alarming capabilities.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders to align system design with installation and long-term operational standards.
Administrative & Financial Support
- Manage purchase orders, contracts, and invoices while tracking financial forecasts.
- Maintain accurate asset data and technical documentation for all control systems and system inventories.
- Track vendor deliverables to ensure adherence to established naming conventions and standards.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation and reporting
- Familiarity with BAS platforms
- Understanding of energy management principles and building performance metrics
- Ability to collaborate with technical teams to ensure data accuracy and system integrity
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience in project coordination, including financial tracking and vendor management
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business or related field
- OR equivalent experience in building automation, energy analytics, or controls project coordination
Years of Experience:
- 3-5 years
- 2-3 years in data analytics or energy performance analysis
- 1-2 years in project coordination or administrative support
- Exposure to BAS systems and energy optimization strategies
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
- n/a
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with analytics platforms or energy monitoring tools
- Familiarity with commissioning or retro-commissioning processes
- Exposure to HVAC, lighting or pool control system analytics
- Experience preparing dashboards or presentations for leadership
- PMP or similar project management certification
Pay
This is a salaried position starting at $85,000.00(or applicable minimum salary, if higher) and pays up to $117,000.00, based on experience and qualifications.Benefits
