Position Summary
Under limited supervision, provides support to production lines by ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient operation of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic equipment. Responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery in compliance with safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
Position Responsibilities
- OEE Improvement: Help drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements by escalating issues through proper channels to ensure timely resolution and continuous enhancement of production efficiency.
- Time Management & Organization: Demonstrate strong time management, sense of urgency, and organizational skills to effectively prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure consistent execution of operational objectives.
- Accountability & Equipment Reliability: Demonstrate strong accountability and ownership of maintenance practices and driving equipment availability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure reliable, consistent operational performance.
- Flexibility & Responsiveness: Maintain flexibility and adaptability by quickly adjusting priorities and actions in response to changing demands, shifting schedules, and urgent requests while sustaining operational effectiveness.
- Drive Performance Excellence: Consistently achieve high performance levels by completing tasks that meet scheduled requirements and business objectives.
- Expert Troubleshooting: Skillfully troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, electrical (including PLC), and hydraulic systems during both unexpected and planned downtime events, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Proactive Maintenance: Execute a proactive preventive maintenance (PM) schedule to ensure machine robustness and maximize uptime, keeping production lines running smoothly.
- Equipment and Tool Management: Maintain all equipment and tools meticulously to prevent production interruptions and minimize unnecessary downtime.
- Downtime Analysis: Proactively analyze machine downtime to identify and resolve mechanical issues before they occur, enhancing overall efficiency.
- Parts Management: Ensure the availability of critical replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtime.
- Accurate Record-Keeping: Maintain precise and detailed records related to maintenance issues, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Contractor Coordination: Coordinate with outside contractors for equipment repairs, sourcing cost-effective solutions and upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to and ensure the completion of continuous improvement projects, driving innovation and operational excellence.
- Safety and Security: Create and maintain a safe and secure work environment, adhering to all safety standards and protocols.
- Goal Achievement: Consistently achieve annual goals and objectives, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
- Culture Co-Creation: Collaborate in co-creating and implementing the ZF culture, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Special Projects and Other Duties: Perform special projects as requested and other duties as assigned to support overall business objectives.
Essential Skills and Experience
- 3+ years experiences in industrial maintenance technician position in manufacturing.
- Understanding of production line operations and workflows, including how maintenance activities impact uptime, safety, and output.
- Knowledge of communication protocols and escalation procedures to ensure timely and accurate information flow during service events.
- Service-oriented communication skills, including active listening, clear status updates, and professional interactions with internal customers.
- Coursework in Maintenance related discipline; Electrical certification or industrial electronics education.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and technical knowledge of Mechanical, Pneumatic, Electrical and Hydraulic Systems.
- Advanced knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing/operations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational, task management and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office.
- English language competency.
Preferred Skills and Responsibilities
- Prior experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Allen Bradley PLC programming experience.
- Experience with total productive maintenance systems (TPM).
- Familiar experience with Honing and Machining.
- Familiar with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
