Key Responsibilities
Professionally represent Corning and the Global Security Division by performing duties including, but not limited to:
- Lead daily security operations, including alarm monitoring, incident response, emergency support (fire/medical/hazmat), and conduct routine physical security activities such as patrols, access control, and system monitoring.
- Serve as the primary security point of contact, maintaining strong relationships with facility leadership and attending site meetings as appropriate.
- Mentor and support security officers by coordinating tasks, providing post‑specific and refresher training, and fostering a positive team environment.
- Document daily activity, review incident reports for accuracy, and collect and disseminate daily security metrics.
- Oversee contract security services by coordinating staffing needs, ensuring compliance with procedures, and tracking vendor hours and open posts.
- Provide customer service support across the site and assist with general security operations as needed.
- Maintain CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and provide care consistent with training.
- Deliver routine security updates to supervisors/managers and participate in supervisory training.
Hours of work/work schedule/flextime:
- Core schedule 8-hour day shifts (Monday-Friday), overtime as needed, flexibility to work weekends and alternate shifts with minimal notice
Experiences/Education - Required
- A.S. Degree required, or High School Diploma/GED and minimum of one year experience in leadership role
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in previous Security role
- Demonstrated security experience with strong operational judgment and sound decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to multitask effectively, work independently, and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate documentation under time sensitive conditions.
- Proficiency with security operations including technological systems, such as access control systems, CCTV, incident reporting system, visitor management and life safety systems
- Solid technical aptitude, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new operational tools and systems.
- Cultural sensitivity and strong interpersonal skills for interacting effectively across diverse groups.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a security guard license where required.
