Reporting to the Verification/Validation Team Leader, the Verification & Validation Engineering Specialist is responsible for supporting the verification and validation of electrical and electromechanical products by combining hands‑on testing, data analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration. The candidate will be responsible for leveraging both traditional engineering methods and AI‑enabled tools (such as Copilot, Jira, and Confluence) to accelerate documentation, test development, and problem Additionally, the role plays a key part in troubleshooting technical issues, building test setups, and partnering with engineering teams to ensure product quality, performance, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.
This position is part of the Verification/Validation team, located in London, ON, and will be onsite.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
AI-enabled engineering, documentation & workflow acceleration
Use AI-enabled tools (Microsoft Copilot, Jira, Confluence) to accelerate the drafting, review, and improvement of test reports, protocols, and technical documentation, applying engineering judgment to every AI output.
Contribute to the team's evolving AI-augmented engineering practices, automated design review, intelligent documentation, and emerging applications in generative design and AI-accelerated simulation.
Data analysis, system processing & technical troubleshooting
Apply data analysis and system processing techniques, including AI-enhanced workflows where appropriate, to test data, fault diagnosis, and product behavior investigations.
Participate in root cause analysis and investigations of product failures, electrical issues, signal anomalies, and testing issues using structured problem-solving methods and data-backed conclusions.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during the product lifecycle through hands-on testing, data collection, analysis, and follow-up actions.
Verification & validation execution, testing & compliance
Conduct verification and validation activities to ensure products meet functional, regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.
Participate in laboratory testing, field verification, and validation of electrical and electromechanical product performance.
Test planning, protocols, setups & instrumentation
Assist in the development of new test protocols, test plans, DVP&R content, and acceptance criteria for new product development and product changes.
Design, adapt, or direct the building of test setups, fixtures, instrumentation, and test equipment for new situations, based on analysis of test specifications and engineering department requests and instructions.
As a member of a collaborative team, create and deliver on project plans, test plans, technical reports, and verification summaries.
Cross-functional engineering contribution & technical support
Carry out assignments of substantial variety and/or complexity requiring a sound understanding of electrical, mechatronics, and verification/validation engineering principles and practices.
Act as a technical resource in a cross-functional product development environment, supporting design reviews, prototype evaluations, and final design improvements.
Note: Up to 10% of local or international travel may be required.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Post-secondary education in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering disciplines
Proficient in using CAD and engineering documentation tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD 2D, SolidWorks, or similar
Experience supporting test setup design, instrumentation, verification/validation activities, and technical report writing
Experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing engineering test data to support problem-solving and design decisions
Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal) and strong facilitation/presentation skills
Practical literacy with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot, Jira, and Confluence — or the willingness and aptitude to develop it quickly.
Foundational AI literacy: comfortable using AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) in technical work, with awareness of prompt engineering and context engineering principles, and a critical eye when evaluating AI outputs.
Basic data analysis fluency, Excel / Power Query, Python (NumPy, Pandas), or equivalent for test data review, signal processing, and analysis.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
ONTARIO ONLY: The compensation range for this role is $70.000 to $100.000 CAD. This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
