Job Description
General Summary
Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing or production processes. This position plays a key role in achieving production targets, maintaining product quality, and fostering a culture of safety and teamwork.
Desired Knowledge and/or Skills
• Directly supervise production staff including training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Monitor and oversee production activities to ensure goals are achieved.
• Ensure products meet quality standards through inspections and quality checks.
• Promote and enforce safety protocols and proper use of protective equipment.
• Manage inventory levels and ensure materials are available to meet production demands.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement operational changes.
• Prepare production reports covering efficiency, quality, and production issues.
• Address production issues and implement solutions to minimize disruptions.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality control teams.
• Monitor and control production costs to optimize resource utilization.
Work Experience
Qualifications
• 3-5 years experience in a supervisory role managing personnel in a production environment.
• Steel fabrication experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ERP systems.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to occasionally pull, push, carry, or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to withstand occasional bending, squatting, or crouching.
• Ability to frequently handle tools, equipment, or materials.
• Ability to work in inclement weather conditions including cold, heat, and humidity.
