MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
- Define and lead high-level pricing strategy to maximize market access success across existing and new portfolio
- Optimize access within key accounts by creating an enabling environment for product reimbursement.
- Lead and manage teams across Key Account, Market Access, and Tender functions.
- Build strategic alliances to shape public policy favorable to reimbursement of EPD Legacy/AHVN Vietnam products.
- Defend portfolio value and future tender management, price submissions and competitive bidding scenarios, tender shaping and private market expansion and price negotiations. Identify new revenue stream via private health insurance
- Contribute as a member of the Country Leadership Team (LT), reporting directly to the General Manager.
- Share accountability for leadership, strategic direction, business development, and compliance within the market.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Access Strategy and Planning
- Build and implement a market access, pricing strategy and tender policy in a progressive company that has contributed to achieving overall business goals
- Shape a public policy environment that recognizes and rewards innovations, EPD Legacy/AHVN business offerings and enhances our ability to do business in the province or region
- Tacking local healthcare system developments and identifying new opportunities for access for Abbotts EPD’ products in the established portfolio and upcoming biosimilar/biologics pipeline across Region APAC.
- Communicate the perspective of the payers internally and engage according to the relevant direct or indirect channel payers to promote product value throughout lifecycle management
- Support and drive key initiatives for capability building, sharing of best practices and drive the market access agenda forward amongst peers at the country level
- Support with hospital listing process and adopting a high-quality value dossier and executing Patient Assistance Programs to bridge the affordability gap
- Developing and localizing market access and pricing strategy across the portfolio and defining RWE strategies to defend value and drive volume growth through pricing strategies
- Critical success factors of the role will be in driving access and reimbursement for the new pipeline (biosimilars & biologics) and across existing portfolio and supports and day to day operations.
- Deep knowledge of the pricing, reimbursement, co-funding, and procurement mechanics of the local health care system(s) (processes, evidence needs and guiding regulatory requirements etc.)
- Drive Health economic methods, Health Technology Assessment, evidence-based medicine and their application
- Develop value messages and claims, ensuring target product profiles and target claims can meet payer needs
Stakeholder Engagement Management
- Lead the development of strategic partnership with government offices (DAV, DHI, DPF, VSS,…) and Government-nominated institutes (NDQC, HUP, HMU, …) to develop sustainable healthcare environment
- Defines the stakeholder engagement plan and tactics to enable access of the existing and biosimilar/biologics portfolio, aligned with the cross functional team leaders and management.
- Build and develop high performing teams
- Develop and manage projects, related consultants and associated budgets.
- Respect and adhere to Abbott’s Code of Conduct and other corporate policies, ensure the operation is in a full compliance with the legal and regulatory (internal & external) framework
- Represent Abbott on specific industry association (i.e. Pharma Group, Eurocham, Armcharm) committees of Abbott core policy position
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design Market Access model will be implemented in Vietnam to maximize the efficiency
- Develop, motivate and coach the team and provide guidance
- Set and monitor targets for each individual in the team to ensure high performance management
- Support employees in implementing of their growth plans. Develop and maintain succession plan and address future staffing issues in a proactive manner.
- Ensure team activities to comply with Company Business Code of Conduct and all local applicable laws within scope of function responsibility
MINIMUM BACKGROUND/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Work Experience
- >10-15 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry including a significant experience in Market Access authorities and/ or formulary listing committees, preferably with experience working with biological/biosimilar portfolio and generics experience
- Experience working in a multinational company with a matrix organization
Education
Bachelor/MBA
University degree of Medical/Pharmacy qualification/MBA
