Responsible for leading cloud data security and data engineering including designing, building, and enhancing cyber data lake, analytics, and reporting capabilities that enable enterprise cyber threat analysis, exposure assessment, and risk-based remediation. This role identifies and integrates critical cyber data sources in partnership with Truist Data Engineering and Data Analytics Engineering teams and serves as a lead liaison to define reporting, analytic, and dashboard requirements across Cloud Security, Threat Exposure Management (TEM), and Application Security. The position develops scalable data pipelines, internal dashboards, and analytical solutions that improve operational visibility, support cyber risk assessment, validate compensating controls, and drive vulnerability remediation prioritization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify, evaluate, and onboard internal and external cyber data sources required to support threat analysis, exposure assessment, and cyber risk reporting, including telemetry from cloud, infrastructure, application security, vulnerability, and security operations platforms.
Partner with Truist Data Engineering and Data Analytics Engineering teams to design, build, and enhance scalable cyber data lake and analytics capabilities, including ingestion pipelines, data models, metadata, lineage, quality controls, and reporting structures that enable reliable and secure use of cyber telemetry.
Work closely with Cloud Security, Threat Exposure Management (TEM), and Application Security teams to integrate data sets and develop shared capabilities that improve cyber threat analysis, attack surface visibility, and enterprise cyber risk assessment.
Lead definition of reporting, analytic, and dashboard requirements with Cloud Security, Threat Exposure Management (TEM), and partner teams, and develop internal dashboards and analytical capabilities that correlate threat, vulnerability, asset, and control data to support cyber risk reduction, remediation decisions, and operational visibility.
Apply analytical methods to prioritize vulnerability remediation by combining exploitability, exposure, asset criticality, and control effectiveness data to drive risk-based remediation sequencing and measurable reduction in cyber risk.
Engineer, maintain, and optimize secure data pipelines and supporting platform components for the cyber data lake, including monitoring, access controls, performance tuning, and issue resolution to ensure data availability, integrity, and timely delivery.
Serve as the lead liaison across cyber, cloud, application security, and data analytics engineering stakeholders to translate business and security needs into scalable data, reporting, and dashboard solutions, establish implementation priorities, and support adoption of data-driven cyber risk management practices.
Lead complex initiatives to expand cyber data lake, analytics, dashboarding, and reporting capabilities for Cloud Security and TEM, continuously improving data quality, automation, and operational insights that strengthen vulnerability management, remediation effectiveness, and overall cyber resilience.

Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience in systems engineering or administration or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge in applied enterprise information security technologies including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, network operating systems, identity management, database activity monitoring, encryption, content filtering, and Mainframe security
Previous experience in leading complex IT projects
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or MBA and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Banking or financial services experience
Other security certifications (e.g. CCNA Security, GSEC, GCED, GPPA, etc.)
Other technical Certifications (e.g. CCNA, RHCE, MCSE, etc.)
Experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise data lakes, data pipelines, or large-scale data platforms for cyber security or risk analytics use cases.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including ingestion and analysis of cloud security, posture management, and infrastructure telemetry.
Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern data engineering frameworks or ETL/ELT tooling used to build scalable, production-grade data pipelines and analytics solutions.
Experience working with cybersecurity analytics, vulnerability management, threat exposure management, or application security data to support risk-based remediation and prioritization decisions.
Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, lineage, access controls, and data quality practices required to operate secure and reliable cyber data platforms in regulated environments.
Familiarity with integrating data from security platforms such as SIEM, CSPM, vulnerability scanners, endpoint detection and response, or application security testing tools.
Experience delivering security or data engineering solutions within highly regulated industries such as banking or financial services, with an understanding of risk, control, and audit expectations.
Certification in Information Security Management (e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)), or related security certification(s)
